Welcome to ROC
The Holy Innocents & St. Nina, Equal-to-the-Apostles
We, at The Holy Innocents & St. Nina, Equal-to-the-Apostles, are a vibrant English-language, multi-ethnic, canonical parish of the Russian Church Abroad.
Established on January 20, 2019, we welcome all who come into our humble setting to learn of and participate in our apostolic Orthodox Christian faith.
Welcome!
Our parish "wandered in the desert" for two years before finding our present home. Albeit temporary, our vibrancy is enabling planning for a permanent home. Please engage us if you're looking for peace amid the noise of the world and want to partake of the Divine Mysteries of our Lord God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
We are proudly a daughter parish of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Washington, D.C. -- the only parish founded by a saint in America, St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco in 1949. Archbishop John's planting of the cathedral has resulted in a rich ecclesiastical heritage in the greater D.C. metropolitan area.
Donation
We are unlike many Orthodox parishes.
We are a parishioner-supported parish, meaning we have no intention of pursuing parish festivals and being dependent on non-Orthodox Christians for our survival. The preceding is not a comment on other Orthodox Christian parishes. On the contrary, it is a comment on the culture we are attempting to create within our parish--the podvig we are willing to undertake to pursue peace and truth within
our Holy Traditions.
If we earnestly pursue the Holy Spirit's love, we will survive.
If you can support our endeavor, it will be profoundly appreciated. God bless you.
